The American Coordinating Council of Norway will once again host the 37th annual American Independence Day celebration in Frognerparken on Sunday, 30th June, 2024 from 12:00-17:00.
We are thrilled to offer delicious American food, live entertainment, sports, a children's festival packed with games and activities, and of course the much-anticipated watermelon-eating contest! We hope to see you and your favorite Norwegian-Americans there.
So far, this year's raffle prizes include an overnight stay, brunch for four with champagne, and jazz show with champagne from Amerikalinjen. Stay tuned for further prize announcements!

Currently, all U.S. passport applicants in Norway — including adults renewing their passports through the “mail-in” form DS-82 — must arrange for in-person payment of their passport renewal fee at the U.S. Embassy in Oslo. The Department of State is pleased to announce that U.S. Embassy Oslo has been selected as a pilot location for payment of DS-82 passport renewal fees online. The pilot program is expected to begin in the next few months. The U.S. Embassy will send out another announcement when this online payment pilot system has launched, along with specific instructions to help U.S. citizens confirm their eligibility to use this online payment option. What is the ACCN?
The American Coordinating Council of Norway (ACCN) is a non-profit council of Norwegian-American organizations founded in 1985. Acting as an umbrella organization, the ACCN offers its member organizations the ability to extend their horizons by providing an information network to American and Norwegian-American groups in Norway. The ACCN’s main objective is an interest in furthering Norwegian-American relations in Norway, and also in strengthening the bonds between Norway and the United States. The cornerstone of the ACCN’s network is its monthly meetings with delegates from member organizations, during which news about upcoming events of mutual interest is exchanged.
The annual US Independence Day celebration in Frogner Park offers a uniquely American experience, and would not be possible without the support of our fantastic community of advertisers, supporters, and volunteers.
